Vision

Inquire Higher envisions existing as a bridge between Black students and professionals to foster a promising and confident group of individuals as well as strong relationships between generations.

OUR STORY

Inquire Higher began as a small college consulting company in Los Angeles that supported students with little to no college preparation knowledge or experience. It was founded by Ashley and Selvin Quire Jr., two higher education professionals experienced in admissions and financial aid. As first-generation students with high student loan debt, their purpose was to provide students with guidance and access to academic and financial information about college.

After four years of assisting more than 500 students and 25 schools, Ashley noticed another discrepancy in college preparation within Black students and its prolonged effects on career opportunities and student loan debt compared to students of other races. With this realization in mind, the founders shifted their focus to providing more holistic support to Black students and professionals. The pandemic also pushed them to support students on a larger scale by making resources available virtually. This led to the creation of The Black Student Success Podcast where Black professionals share stories of personal triumph and guidance that has reached audiences from over 30 countries.

Inquire Higher is committed to its mission by building an innovative, multigenerational platform that bridges the equity where Black students and professionals can connect and grow together. It has created countless podcast episodes, videos, and articles, as well as programming like The Black Mentors and Internship and Career Prep Program to support student and professional success.
